SOULT

Priding myself in Artisan Designs I like to travel during off season to refresh and gather some ideas, implementing or creating a similar style of what I've found

This 2015 inspirational journey I loosened my curls, bathed in the ocean, walked through forest while collecting drift wood, spanish moss, shells and supporting local craftsmanship

Our last stop was at Wild Spirit Backpackers where my hand stitching technique was put to test,  I was kindly offered a sowing kit and some beautiful off cuts of  shweshwe cloth so I added some African flair to the torn Dutch jeans

Terri Hutchings owner of Soult was modestly telling me about her adventures and as I observed more of her work all done by hand, observing was no longer an option I had to have a few of these beautiful broaches for my international weddings, securing the guys take a little bit of Africa home

Her pieces are all hand made, cut and stitched to perfection, they are graceful yet super trendy, each with its own color matches and fabric texture
I LOVE EACH AND EVERYONE OF THEM...

A LITTLE THING CALLED...
Shweshwe/Indigo cloth has a long and complex history, emerging after the 1652 establishment of a seaport at the Cape of Good Hope, slaves, soldiers, Khoi-san and Voortrekker woman were clothed in indigo. Natural indigo dye was obtained from Indigofera Tinctoria plant.
